Near Pitlochrie is Aldour Distillery situated on a a burn which so far as pronunciation goes may be called Allt Odhar Shios or Lower Dun Burn. That the names are not what they seem is certain. In the first place the article is not prefixed to them as might be expected before names compounded of a noun and an adjective; in the next place Edradour House in Gaelic Eadra-dhobhair is situated between the two burns and in the last place a pool in the river Tummel at the mouth of the lower of the two burns is named Poll Dobhair and therefore the inference is unavoidable that the names of the streams are Allt Dobhair Shuas and Allt Dobhair Shios.: Robertson
