As for Kilmany in Fife, see Taylor iv, 456-7 who proposes a name Maine or Manna. The old forms of Kilmany show an -a- back to the 13th Century like Dalmeny. The name Irish form of the name is Maine as appearing in Clonmany ~ Cluan Maine. Taylor effectively dismisses Watson’s suggestion of M’Eithne.
