SourcesThis name was gathered as part of a local research project on the place-names of the Rough Bounds of Lochaber and was published in a booklet by SNH and AÀA. The Following quote appears in that booklet:

“On the hillside between Doire na Drise (see below) and Tòrr a’ Bheithe, there are several ruins which would have been part of one, or the other, of the little farms. Tòrr a’ Bheithe, ‘birch mound’ is the area of another little farm. Standing here and looking south, the view is to Loch nan Uamh with Ardnish, Roshven and an Stac in the background. As the eye travels further along the coast we see Glenuig, Smirisary and outwards to Ardnamurchan Point.”
