SourcesThis name was gathered as part of a local research project on the place-names of the Rough Bounds of Lochaber and was published in a booklet by SNH and AÀA. The Following quote appears in that booklet:

“South of this is Port na Mùraich ‘port of the sand hill’ just south of Rhu Point. It is a beautiful little bay, facing Ardnamurchan Point, there is an unconfimed story that Port na Mùraich may have been an ancient graveyard.”
