Translation for Moor
In Sinton 1906, moor is translated generally as sliabh, (155, 222, 334) although the only toponymic usage that could be found was monadh in Monadh dubha Dhruimuachdair = ‘dark moor of Drumochter’, 250, although cf Watson 1926, 396 were he interprets this as the mountain range.
There is also of course nearby Newtonmore (Baile Ùr an t-Slèibh)
